Nebido is a form of injectable testosterone used especially in Europe. It has a very long action, which is why it is difficult to use by bodybuilders and other athletes.
Active substance: testosterone undecanoat
Trade names: Nebido
Nebido is a new testosterone-based preparation, being introduced to the European market at the end of 2004. It uses long-acting testosterone ester, undecanoate, at a concentration of 250 mg / ml.
It was conceived as a response to chipped or enanted testosterone. In the clinical setting, this product is very attractive to patients, its injection being very rare. For example, for the beginning a loading period is made, an injection of 1000 mg (4 ml) every 6-8 weeks. Then blood testosterone levels can be maintained with one injection every 12 weeks, which would mean only 4 injections per year. This is a big step forward for the enanted and chipped, in which case at least 22 injections a year would be needed.
But for bodybuilders the advantage of its very slow action is not too noticeable, here using overdoses, not normal doses. This means injecting the steroid at a more regular rate, which would make the comfort factor disappear. That would mean injecting 4 ml of Nebido every 2-4 weeks, for an average weekly dose of 250-500 mg. At these doses are expected the gains and side effects as with other testosterone esters (enanthate, cypionate, etc.). The only difference being the less frequent injections, but not by much.
Nebido's action will be slower so it is best to start the cycle with enameled, chipped or propionated testosterone, so that the effects are faster. Nebido began to spread in the European Union, and can be found in many pharmacies.
It is most often used by professional bodybuilders as a link between heavier steroid cycles. Such bodybuilders take steroids all year long, having only short breaks between cycles. In these breaks I use Nebido to maintain high testosterone levels.
Side effects are the same as with any testosterone-based preparation: gynecomastia, water retention, acne, oily skin, increased aggression, enlargement of the prostate, baldness (in the genetically predisposed ones) and negative cholesterol. It is possible that some of these undesirable effects may occur later, due to the long undecanoate ester.
