Indication:Testosterone Compound
Testosterone Compound is administered in men to treat androgenic deficit after castrating, eunuchoidism, hypopituitarism, impotence hormonal origin, symptoms of male climax (decreased libido and physical and intellectual activity), some forms of sterility with impaired spermatogenesis, osteoporosis caused by androgenic insufficiency.
Contraindications:Testosterone Compound
This medicine is not approved for use in females and it was administered throughout males after a health-related prescription.
You must not use sustamed if you have or are diagnosed with prostate cancer, having a baby. You must announce your doctor when you have high blood pressure, heart problems, hypercalcemia or hypercalciuria, kidney disorders, epilepsy or even headaches.
Administration: Testosterone Compound
Testosterone Compound is for intramuscular use only. The dosage is determined individually according to the patient's reaction to this medicine.
The common dose for adults is 250 mg solution given intramuscularly over 14 days. The cure period is determined individually.
The sterility in men (azoospermia, oligospermia) needs a dose of 500 mg once every 2 weeks (if painful erection happens the treatment must be discontinued).
Women with breast cancer will have a dose of 250-500 mg every 1-2 weeks.
The drug is not administered intravenously!
Medical action:
Testosterone is the androgenic hormone produced and released by the testes. It is responsible for the growth and development of male sex organs and secondary sexual characteristic features (aging prostate, seminal vesicles, penis, and scrotum), male hair distribution (face, groin, chest) develop of laryngeal muscle and body fat distribution. Retains nitrogen, sodium, potassium and phosphorus, increases anabolism and decreases protein catabolism. A premature increase of plasma concentration of testosterone in prepubertal period causes epiphyseal closure and suppresses growth. It stimulates erythropoietin and red blood cell production. The feedback mechanism inhibits pituitary secretion of luteinizing hormone and follicle and causes suppression of spermatogenesis.
Inhibits pituitary gonadotrophic function in women, the ovaries function, mammary glands, causes endometrial atrophy. Due to the action of estrogen antagonists, it is used in the treatment of uterine myoma, endometriosis, and breast cancer.
Precautions:
In the case of adverse reactions, the administration of sustamed needs to be discontinued. After the disappearance of side effects, repeat the treatment with lower doses.
Patients with latent or overt cardiac failure, impaired renal function, hypertension, epilepsy or a migraine (or a history with this health conditions) will be under constant supervision because androgens may cause sodium retention and in some cases water retention. During the cure period, the liver function needs to be monitored. Patients with breast cancer, hipernefrom, lung cancer with bone metastases will control the level of calcium in the blood and urine. Androgens in prepubertal adolescents should be given with caution to avoid a premature cessation of growth and puberty.
Side effects:
• Priapism and other symptoms of sexual hyperstimulation (frequent erection);
• prepubertal age teenagers - accelerated sexual development; increased frequency of erections, increased sexual organ size, premature epiphyseal closure;
• impaired spermatogenesis and sperm maturation disorder, oligospermia and reduced volume of ejaculate;
• Abnormalities of the prostate;
• Women - bleeding from the genital tracts, increased libido; in prolonged administration, virilization symptoms are possible;
• Hirsutism, gynecomastia;
• Seborrhea, acne, oily skin, hair loss;
• Sodium and water retention, edema;
• Symptoms of hypercalcemia;
• Thrombophlebitis;
• Nausea, cholestatic jaundice, increase in liver transaminases (normalized upon discontinuation);
• Headaches, depression, aggression, anxiety, sleep disorders, numbness.
A possible pain, itching and redness at the injection site.
Overdosage:
In the case of overdose you need to announce your doctor about this.
